Shopping at MetroCon

Haunted House - got a flipping wonderful commission from these ladies. It makes my eyes go *_* 13 shades of awesome, to be sure.

Anime Pagoda - picked up a cute little Sango-chan pin. Miroku was soooold out.

The Dark Side - got a UFS Chun Li starter deck and 10 packs of boosters (on sale for a dollah!)

Armada Games - didn't do much shopping at the booth, but they're super cool, my friends love them and I plan on visiting the store.

ello studios - got the cutest Wolverine plushie that I pawed on all day Saturday.

Kandy Girl Designs - got some buttons for me and the SO. Nice girls, they dig comics and gaming, like ME.

Nihonzashi - Japanese swordsmanship - Equipment, Supplies, Service and Training. Not going to lie, I can't afford their swords. But if you can, they are of very high quality.

Tofu Pimp - These girls are great artists, wonderful table neighbors and cute Sailor Moon cosplayers. Love them.

Kay Monster - my friend got a great sketch of all of the Flashes over the ages. Cool chickie!

 Download.com's emails bring some good stuff sometimes!  They reccomended Noitu Love 2 Devolution (demo). From the screen shots, it seems pretty cool. I'll most likely download it and give it a go. (The blogger) Gia reports that D Gray Man has been licened by FUNimation. I've only seen the first episode of the anime, but the manga is AMAZING AND WONDERFUL and you need to read it right now.

ANN reports that HalCali will be performing in NY on June 1. I am trying not to drop dead from jealousy.

Heisei Democracy posts news that there will be a Tama-chan hug pillow released. I really could have done with any other character other than the tiny loli on this pillow. If you're going to be ecchi, at least make it someone who looks a bit older, like Miya-Miya.

In 'this had better not be like Minami-ke season 2' news, AnimeNation reports that Nodame Cantabile will be getting a season 2. < waluigi voice > SO GOOD! < /waluigi>

Not So Fresh Blog Dump

Some of these news bits may be a couple days late. Sometimes irl gets in the way of my hobbies.

Comics!
Comic Book Resources has a link to the X-Men "family" solicitations for December. At a glance, Messiah CompleX seems to be the Madrox & Layla Miller show. Layla, you know...she knows stuff... about stuff....right. I have this sudden urge to just wait for the trade.

There is also a link to the Marvel Atlas. (it's there, keep scrolling) This is far more interesting. I love seeing where things are set, especially when the places may or may not exist. Definitely on the list to pick up.

Shulkie.com rocks my socks. They have an image of the variant cover for She Hulk 22. I find it to be quite bad ass. They also have some screen shots of Jen in the Fantastic Four animated series. (which you can watch on youtube here)

Kid Nemo Company has a cool T-Elos figure. - Sculpts like this really make me want to play the Xenosaga series - but I've been attempting to find time to play FF12 for roughly 6 months now with no luck.

Kotobukiya has a Catwoman figure (recent outfit with the goggles) up in their Batman series. I could do without the ass to camera picture, but they know what audience they're aiming for with that.

The USPS has released a set of Marvel Superhero themed stamps.

Heisei Democracy found some new hug pillows - complete with boobs and underwear. I'd bet that it has anatomy in the pantsu. If you need a hug pillow with boobs and probably a hole, just go get an inflatable doll and be done with it. (nsfw, duh)

Japan Probe has discovered the new fashion trend in Japan. Underwear Gyaru. It's a girl wandering about in her undies, a belt, her cell phone and that's about it. Pants. Invest in them. That being said, she reminds me of FFX2 Rikku. ^_^;;;; (nsfw, did I even need to point that out?)

The Witchblade Takeru manga has officially rendered me agog. In addition to the complete and utter lack of outfit/armor (they don't even attempt to cover the ass), the sex-crazed loli character, the evil/older lady/megane character, the new villain is a guy that eats the lips off of females faces. Ugh. I'm officially holding on to see how far this manga goes. Train wreck each time. Always leaves me with the 0_0! face. Some Japanese scans from the first issue are posted at Scans Daily. 2 weeks later, the return!

In addition to all the personal stuff going on, & projects needing completion, I caught some sort of odd illness. Its like the Outer Mongolian Brown Spotted Racing Ostrich Flu or something. (Probably a stubborn cold virus more like.) I'm now on the road to recovery and one very, very large project has been completed. Things are moving forward and I can start posting on a more regular basis. So, to get started, have some creepy undergarment news with a dash of hug pillow and nom nom nom.

Newsarama has two really interesting articles up! One is an interview with Brett Booth, the current artist for the Anita Blake comic book adaptation & the other is an explanation of the "meh"-inducing Amazons Attack. *sigh* More crazy Greek girls. @_@; (I can say that as I am one)

Madame Mirage, in addition to having a fantastic first issue, also has a myspace page with almost 2,000 friends. As for me, I'm still waiting for approval. ;_; Seriously though, if you have a few extra bucks, go get this book.

Udon has released a Capcom art book! Kotaku says to "Expect art from SF, Mega Man, Darkstalkers, Devil May Cry, Rival Schools and a few more" You can pick one up from various online retailers - Amazon or Barnes and Noble (B&N has a 20% discount) I can pass up most art books, but they got me with the tease of Rival Schools. Tucked away in a newscatcher post, animeOnline reports that the new season of You're Under Arrest will be titled Taiho Shichauzo: Full Throttle.

Speaking of aO, they are now offering an anime download service. $1.99 per ep. Current titles are Trinity Blood, Kiddy Grade, and Rumbling Hearts.

JapanSugoi has a feature on ganguro gal turned model, turned Jpop star Sifow. This is the first I've heard of her, but I liked what I heard and who doesn't love someone that does a dance/trance version of the Sailor Moon theme? Respect.

Drink Evangelion Coffee, World Explodes

Kotaku, AnimeOnline, Anime News Network and many other anime news sites covered this so I thought I should mention it. (Kotaku has the best pictures though) Evangelion coffee was released back in the day when Eva first came out. It faded away, to bring forth new fan drinks/swag. However, with the Eva series (remake?) coming up this summer, venading machines in Japan are now stocking Eva coffee again.

"The drinks will be sold as individual cans and in cases of 6 cans for 945 yen (about 8.50 US Dollars). The cases include two cans of black coffee with "Don't Drink This" printed on the can, three cans of "LCL" Orange Juice, and a coin bank as an added bonus to people who buy the case."
