• Sleestak's wordless review for New Avenger #31. Quoted for truth.

• Pick up the box set of Diamond Day Dreams (aka Diamond Dust Drops) for a sweet $54.98 for 325 minutes of this slice of life series. (mmmm....delicious anime on the cheap)
• Centerfold of Urd from Ah My Goddess in the June Issue of Newtype. Best Centerfold. Evar.
• Also has ep 1 of Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl on the dvd. (threw me into a almost Strawberry Eggs level fit at the end)

• Gun X Sword figure Fasalina (most likely nsfw) apparently really really loves what she does. Literally. I think Pandora does this pose in Guitar Hero 2.
• Beautiful figure shots of Ryomou Shimei, (Blue Nurse version) from Ikkitousen at Happy Soda Bring all your kink together with this figure! Schoolgirl socks, the maid apron, the eyepatch, bondage queen with hand-cuffs, dominatrix hair-cut, beauty-marked, aggro-psychotic, submissive shy-girl, etc. Nevermind that her grappling fighting style just begs for artistic perversion, (and now in a nurse outfit as well!) City of Heroes Invasion Expansion

another excuse for screenshots of my characters -City of Heroes Is releasing it's newest expansion - Issue 10: Invasion! Issue 10 begins with a World Event that spans across numerous zones in both Paragon City and the Rogue Isles, as the Rikti return in devastating waves. The first missions in the Rikti War Zone are for characters level 35+. The characters meet a new contact, Levantera, who introduces them to the U.N. security force, Vanguard. They’ll also meet Borea, who sends them on several repeatable missions in the zone. From there, characters meet contact Serpent Drummer, Gaussian, and also talk to the Dark Watcher and learn one of the darkest secrets of Paragon City.

Heroes and villians can team up in a high level (and I do mean high level) 45-50 task force. At that level, expect your ass to go numb in the chair because task forces are LONG, never mind high level task forces.

The Rikti Co-Op Task Force is available for both Heroes and Villains. It is for 6 to 8 players, level 45 – 50. The mission is given out by Lady Grey, leader of the Vanguard. Co-operative missions create a new layer of depth and story as heroes and villains work toward a common goal.

Projectionist Fired After Writing Fantastic 4 review

This type of bullying from Fox is a bit terrifying. My mind is blown.

On Saturday, http://www.AintItCool.com posted a negative review by Morrison (writing under his online moniker Memflix) under the headline "Memflix crushes all hope for 'Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer."'

On Monday, two days after his "Silver Surfer" pan appeared, Morrison was called into a meeting with Malco senior vp Jimmy Tashie and, according to Morrison, was "suspended until further notice," with the suggestion that he would not be asked to return. Morrison said Tashie pointed out that "20th Century Fox called them that morning and threatened to take away the press and trade screenings because of this whole thing. They were upset."

In other news, Kyoko Fukada (Momoko from Kamikaze Girls) will be starring alongside Misaki Ito in a new JDrama “Yama Onna Kabe Onna”- The series is adapted from Atsuko Takakura’s manga and centers around Ito as a thin Japanese woman working at a department store who does not have bon-kyu-bon proportions and has the nickname of “kabe onna” (”kabe” means “wall” and “onna” means “woman”). Her workplace becomes even more difficult when a well-endowed “yama onna” (”yama” meaning “mountain”) gets assigned to her same department and the two have some conflicts.

KOF : MI Reg A Release Dates

An official date has set for the release of KOF Maximum Impact Regulation A for both the Taito ² Type-X arcade board and PS2 version. For arcade its 13th of July and for the PS2 its 26th of July. These dates are specific for Japan only.

Soul Calibur 4 bomb dropped...quietly

Kotaku just posted the debut 'video' from Soul Calibur 4. (not that the video shows much) We can all now safely assume that SC4 is the 'secret' feature in the July issue of EGM.

I'm "retired" from Soul Calibur, but I'll dust off a controller for the new SC. I don't get to own this version though. It's Ps3 & 360 with the Wii getting the exclusive adventure game Soul Calibur Legends. However, I regret nothing in my Wii purchase. Legends it is for me. I'll roll over to the local console gaming center for SC4.

Oh by the way, Ivy's outfit got smaller! It IS possible! HAH!

Japan admits lolita complex

On May 27, a group of 25 males converged at an unspecified Osaka location to participate in a "Satsueikai" (photo shooting session), in which the models were all females of primary school age.

Most of the men, the magazine reports, were in their 30s, with the rest in their 20s and 40s.

The arriving participants registered and each paid 8,000 yen. The session began from 10:30 a.m. at a large and mostly deserted public park, upon which the grinning cameramen assembled around the girls with whom they were most infatuated. They then began taking turns snapping away in a determined manner, without speaking to each other or to the girls.

The most interesting thing about this (to me) is that this situation was shown in Peach Girl: Sae's Story vol 2 in an almost identical manner. It really must be rampant over there. Click the source link below to read the entire article.

Fansub Inconsistencies

When I watch fansubs, I'm happy if I get the jist of what's going on. I have seen some horrific grammar in my day. I think the worst I have seen were some grey market subs of Tenjo Tenge. It was word salad. (buy your anime legally, or suffer the pains of Engrish!) Most English fansubbers are good though.

Japan Probe found a very interesting site "...called uLTraCarL’s Fansubbing Comparison (that) has created pages of side-by-side screen captures that demonstrate the differences in translation styles between different groups. Some prefer very literal translations of Japanese, while others prefer to throw in more comfortable-sounding English slang."

YouTube Testing Copyright Technology

YouTube is preparing to test new video identification technology that will identify copyrighted material as it is uploaded. The test will be held in conjunction with Time Warner and the Walt Disney Company in about one months time. According to Reuters the “video fingerprinting tools” scan for unique attributes in video clips that identify them as being copyrighted material. Media companies are then notified of the infringing material and are given the choice between having the video removed or keep it up as part of a revenue-sharing deal with YouTube.

Comic Vine / Birds of Prey

Well, useless in the grand scheme of things, but super cool and useful to comic book geeks. Comic Vine has profiles, images, statistics and the ever important superhero battle charts. Users can vote on battles for heroes (or villians) with similar powers. Rogue vs God (no picture info) was my favorite.

Also, it has recaps/spoilers for recent comic books. This is INCREDIBLY useful if you don't want to buy all of the World War Hulk books just to see if Jen's lawsuit against Tony flies. (which I don't)

Speaking of spoilers (yay segue!) Birds of Prey 107 has been released and yeah, they went there. So as not to ruin the ending, the spoiler lives here: BOP 107

The only bad news is that they're convinced that Beast would be my perfect superhero date. No Namor? No Wolverine? [sad fangirl]

NHK pillow to grope...

I almost didn't post about this, but for the sake of otaku news go I.

2D goods maker Cospa has put up a preorder page for a hug pillow featuring Nakahara Misaki, the heroine of Takimoto Tatsuhiro / Ooiwa Kenji’s dark hikikomori comedy Welcome to the NHK. Illustration duty has fallen to the anime staff, who seem to have taken some liberties with her design...

Poor Misaki's pillow image is harmless on one side, but the other side has an illustration of her 'bondage style' - tied up with controller wires & various gaming stuff. She's very distraught about the whole situation. PS2 controller wire in the crotch is bound to upset most anyone. Post with image is here and do I really need to tell you that is it WAY NSFW? I didn't think so.

Traded in Guilty Gear Dust Strikers (ugh, so awful) to put a little credit towards Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales and a used copy of Devil Kings. Haven't played Devil Kings yet (yes I know it's a DW clone) but Chocobo Tales has been fantastic thus far. I haven't gone into any card battles yet, but I need something to tide me over till the Card Fighters DS game finally gets recalled. Here is some Devil Kings footage if you're interested.
