Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s

Pandora with Flock of Seagulls hairdo.
[obvious pun time]
That's truly, truly, truly outrageous
[/ obvious pun]

Bits Bytes Pixels & Sprites reveals the cover art for Guitar Hero Encore Rocks the 80s (that's a mouthful, eh?) It's being released for the PS2, but I hope to see it available as a download for the 360, and optimally a Virtual Console DL for the Wii (after GH3 is released of course)

Joystiq posted a partial list of songs a couple of weeks ago. For those that don't know (I didn't) here you go.
  • I Wanna Rock (by Twisted Sister)
  • I Ran (by Flock of Seagulls)
  • Round and Round (as made famous by Ratt)
  • I Want Candy (as made famous by Bow Wow Wow)
  • Metal Health (as made famous by Quiet Riot)
  • Holy Diver (as made famous by Dio)
  • Heat Of The Moment (as made famous by Asia)
In my perfect little world there would be a Freezepop version of the Jem and the Holograms theme song. It won't happen, but I can dream.

Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2 Announced

Ubisoft announces the inevitable - Raving Rabbids 2 for the Wii. Just because it's not a surprise, doesn't mean it's not fantastic news!
They've invaded Rayman's world, and now in the second game, they're invading Earth. Highlights include a Spiderman Rabbid, Pirate Rabbid, Naruto Rabbid and hocking loogies into other people's drinks. (Virtually of course) More emphasis on multiplayer & more bunnies screaming. Good times.

Witchblade figure (Reina)

From a footnote at Heisei Democracy (still nsfw), a link to a very nice Witchblade figure. However, this one isn't of Masane - it's of Reina. I love Masane, but this figure is stunning. It's about 67 dollars US, but still, so very shiny.

For those that don't know...(via Wikipedia, but spoilers removed)
Reina Soho is a Forensics Medicine Specialist in the NSWF (National Scientific Welfare Foundation). [I always read that at NSFW, but anyway] She is a very intelligent, strong, and capable woman. Reina and her assistant, Shiori Tsuzuki, attempt to capture Masane to forcibly remove the Witchblade.

Take a look here -probably not work safe due to tiny Witchblade outfit and utterly disproportionate measurements.

Doujinshi Illegal? What?

Found all over the internet(s) animeOnline, Heisei Democracy (NSFW!), Japanator & Insert Credit - who all got it from Canned Dogs (but Japanator has the best image to go with the article)

The Japanese government is attempting to send those pesky doujin groups to jail.

they are trying to change the law so that the police effectively have the authority to make arrests for copyright violation based purely on their own judgment. This means that if this law goes into effect, it will make 95% of all doujin works illegal

KoF: Regulation A screens

I really don't want to buy this game again just to get Ash Crimson and Blue Mary, but guh, those new screen shots are beautiful. Click the source links below to see more screen shots.

(in vaguely related news, Cyberfanatix is a great KoF site)

King of Fighters movie on the way, fans groan.

Well, apparently SNK got jealous over the news of a Street Fighter movie (which may or may not star Jessica Biel as Chun-Li). So Variety reports that Hong Kong action director Gordon Chan ("The Medallion," "Fist of Legend") is to direct an English-language, live-action adaptation of best-selling videogame "King of Fighters." Pic will lense in Asia in first quarter of 2008...Screenplay is being written by "Fearless" scripter Chris Chow.

Since it's not filming for another year, there's no telling who or what the plot will be based around. Nests? Maximum Impact/ Meira family issues? Pop star idol battle of Athena Asamiya vs Minon Beart? (ok that last guess nauseated me a bit)

I am trying really hard to think of a way that this movie won't be completely campy and failing miserably. The camp is inevitable. That being said, a scene where B Jenet beats someone with her shoe would absolutely be worth the price of admission.
