Petey Piranha's SSBB Debut!
Smash Bros Dojo has revealed Petey Piranha - as a boss character in Super Smash Bros Brawl: Subspace Emissary (side scroller adventure game). He has 2 cages that he attacks with - one has Peach in it, the other, Zelda.
"You can save either Zelda or Peach, depending on which cage you damage more and subsequently break. What will happen to the one you don't save?"
Tough decision...
X-Men 202 - now with 50% more weak sauce!
Sleestak voted X-Men 202 as the worst comic released this week and I completely agree.
I feel as though Mike Carey is emulating poorly plotted anime series in his writing. What I mean by this is that a few years back, it was a trend for anime to start out with a bang and then fizzle with little or no ending. (Niea_7, Lain, hell, even the more recent Nodame Cantabile had a flat ending)
X-Men 200 was fantastic - Double Crossing! Return of the Marauders! Epic Battle! Woo!
but then, the slow painfully dull slide downhill begins in....
X-Men 201 - house fell on our mighty heroes - Bobby & Sam chit chat in the Blackbird, with Emma telepathically attempting to move the plot forward and failing.X-Men 202 - Acolytes! Wait, does anyone care about them anymore? Bobby & Sam now chatting with Shiro. Others still stuck under house. Emma does her 'Bride' impression from Kill Bill (move your big toe, move your big toe...) Rogue still has a hole in her chest and no one seems to care or feel the need to treat her. Riiight.
I am officially irritated by Humberto Ramos' art style. It's googly eyes and slack jaws all around. As someone pointed out to me, it looks like they're all about to sneeze. I suspect Kitty has developed a secondary mutation - of the chameleon variety. She can move her eyes independently. I can understand a stylized/cartoony art style, but when it distracts from the story, then there is a problem.AHRRRR seconded! Painful! Painful I tell you! What a disappointment after the last story arc.

Quick Link : Ultimate X-Men 49 review
Very well written review and critique of Ultimate X-Men 49 at Secret Wars on Infinite Earths. Complete with insight into characterization and how many characters have become less interesting as time goes by. Bit of an emphasis on Rogue, as she was a large part of the battle in this issue, but as you all know, any information/conversations on Rogue are relevant to my interests.
excerpt:
Rogue definitely remains a great example of how the mutant hook presented a fairly basic slate of an idea, but eventually expanded it through the tugs and pulls inherent to that universe. It took some time, but like a Scarlet Witch, Rogue grew beyond the timid and uncertain young girl, to join the more assertive and well defined characters.
Now go read the rest dammit.

Did Marvel do this for The Lulz?
For those that don't know, here is the Urban Dictionary's definition of The Lulz.
While Greg Land is (in)famous for tracing porn (literally, apparently) John Cassaday takes the cake with this panel. I can't show it to you in context as it has a giant spoiler attached to it. (oddly enough) I'll put it here as a thumbnail in case you're at work. I can't tell if it's worksafe or not. Probably not?
Did they (Marvel) really think that the O Face would fly over everyone's heads? Methinks not. Look at the word bubble for Pete's sake! I am not sure if I am supposed to be offended or not, I just got a fantastic laugh out of it. When I'm playing Guitar Hero and Pandora does her little guitar humping move, (see this link at 1:22 if you don't know what I am referring to) I proclaim 'Job Satisfaction!' So hats off to you Emma, being a telepath must be the best. job. ever.

Waste More Time with Street Fighter
Insert Credit has a great little post about all of the SF video available online - from the good to the hideously bad *cough*Korean SF*cough* Definitely take some time to check out the other videos though.
Oddly enough they left out the scene from City Hunter where Jackie Chan dresses up as all of the characters - yes, including Chun Li. (note: Jackie Chan would make a better Chun Li than Jessica Biel, kthx) I'll tack it on here as an extra treat.

Viz wants to talk to you...
New survey up at Viz's web site. The main questioning seems to be about buying digital manga. I'd just like something I can read on my ds. Maybe a digital subscription service? Anyway, go tell them what you think, so they have an idea what manga buyers want.
