Lego Batman Keychain Promo

Just found out the other day while wandering in to Gamestop, that there is a promotional offer for Lego Batman preorders. If you pre order the game (which looks to be full of wonderful and awesome) you get one of four Lego Batman keychains. the options are Batman, Robin, Joker and Catwoman. My local Gamestop said they could not get a specific keychain for me, but went ahead and put a note in the computer for a Catwoman anyway. Odds are, if you get in early to pick it up, then your odds of picking a keychain go up dramatically. So, MORE incentive to pick up Lego Batman. *sigh*

Also of major note, the PS2 version of the game is $29.99, while the 360, Wii and PS3 versions are $49.99. I only have a Wii & a PS2 so it was a tough call. Save money and risk waggle controls or have faith in the Wiimote...

Thanks for Nothing, DC

So, I was telling a friend about the upcoming Secret Six ongoing series and went to DC to check any info they had. They have info all right - the first three covers. The issue 3 cover has the 'secret' addition to the team that Gail Simone has been incredibly tight lipped about. So yeah, spoilers. Bummer. I wanted the mystery. If you want to spoil it for yourself, go here. If not, avoid previews for a bit.

True Blood

TrueBlood_101_017

The viral marketing campaign for HBO's new show True Blood is in full swing. True Blood is based on Charlaine Harris' 'Southern Vampire' mystery series. The main character, Sookie Stackhouse is played by Anna Paquin. (still catering to the geeks, and I love her for it!) True Blood starts Sunday, September 7th at 9pm.

No Fay, No Rain

Fay has decided she can't be arsed with Tampa Bay. No rain, but I'm staying at home and messing around in the kitchen anyway.

Back...with a small delay

I've returned, but now I'm in a bit of a holding pattern, watching to see where Hurricane Fay is going. More posts later (possibly tomorrow). Power willing - I'll likely be stuck at home surfing the internet.

Blog Drop - Japan-esque Edition

geki copy

Some news that may amuse you. Or horrify you, either way.

Marvel is printing a mini-series called Big Hero Six. They're "Japan's top heroes" (ssh, no one tell any of the Super Sentai groups).

Their names/powers are as follows:

Hiro (the most brilliant mind in Japan), Baymax (his reliable synthetic entity), Honey Lemon (with her super-powered purse), and Gogo Tomago (an unstoppable explosive ball of energy)!

Gogo Tamago? Like, Gogo Egg?

I suppose after watching Sorcerer Hunters that I should be used to food names. No worse than Carrot Glaces or Chocolate Misu I suppose.

But not the tomato, it's mine.

--------------

In other news, ANN reports that Kamen no Maid guy volume 9 will bundle with a dvd with one episode that was essentially "too hot for tv". As you may have guessed (clever you), it's the essential hot springs vacation episode.

--------------

Kotobukiya is getting their chocolate in Marvel's peanut butter by releasing busts of Scott and Alex Summers, better known as Cyclops and Havok. $79.99 USD per bust if you're interested.

In one last Japanese-y moment, allow me to present to you some contact lenses that will make you look more like an anime character (and creep the hell out of people you stare at)

Blog Drop - Posting about Marvel edition.

Marvel comics are all over the place. All over the internets of late as well.

Being all over said intertubes, they've joined the Twitter bandwagon.

Marvel editor tries to take over DC comics offices (but did they have a flag?)

This rant at io9 about the Dodson cover for Uncanny 500 gives me the rage. There are times to complain about how women are portrayed in comics and then there is randomly pulling stuff out of your bum. Stuff like this is why people think that when legitimate complaints are made, they are ignored or mocked. Thanks for continuing to cry wolf!
