Blog Dump - Bumpy Chin edition

Jean Skrull What.
Comicvine got sent some promo art with Jean/Phoenix as a skrull...because she wasn't insidious enough to begin with? I think Cyclops is acting quite Skrullish myself. So do the comicvine dudes.

Cleaning Game is Quite Dirty
Canned Dogs has found quite an inappropriate Wii game - Osouji Sentai Clean Keeper. You must stop the king of dirt from dirtying your school. How this ends up with half naked girls eating banannas and popcicles while seemingly participating in a wet tshirt contest, I have no idea.
Read Zepy's Article here. He has a link to pictures. His link is worksafe, the pic links, not so much.

Dungy Ahoy.
Being a native Floridian, it's my duty to report that Tony Dungy (former Bucs coach) will be on the cover of NFL Head Coach 09. Grats, dood.
Kotaku article here with press release.

Death of Stage 6!
Got this information dropped straight into my email box last night. Stage 6, (aka, we did youtube right) is closing down. Too expensive to run, apparently. Sucks. ;_;

"... we plan to shut down Stage6 on February 28, 2008. Upload functionality has already been turned off, and you’ll be able to view and download videos until Thursday. So that’s where we are today. After February 28, Stage6 will cease to exist as an online destination."

Topless Robot Rocks the Info
Topless Robot reports that the Justice League dvd is dropping this week. In addition, they also found a really nice Street Fighter 4 video.

Glupod - could be cool...

Kotaku found an interesting game that's being developed called Glupod. Article here. You play games online, earn items and then you can somehow (this is the bit currently being argued) transfer your in game credits to real money to donate to various charities.

Snark is already abounding in the comments of the Kotaku article but I'm going to wait to see how this actually pans out. Sign up for their newsletter and you get a DL code from your own Glupod when the game launches.

Glupod.com is the official site.

Mario Kart Wii

For some odd reason, I'm not particularly excited about Smash Bros Brawl. Yes, I know I am in the broken minority. Mario Kart for the Wii, however, makes me full of fangirl glee.

Video found by Rob @ Topless Robot.

Steven Sanchez Art Attack

Holy cow! San just did a massive sketch dump on his DeviantArt account. There are 12 new pieces in the last three days, including a cool She Hulk watercolor.

Browse his gallery here.

KOF XII Trailer that is CLEAR

I know a super blurry version of this trailer has been released, but here is one with English subtitles that is much clearer.

Street Fighter 4

In American Arcades?!
Do we still have any of those? There were two around here, one is Gameworks (aka ticket machine land) and the other is the local arcade featuring games with broken controls. I'm not getting my hopes up about this one.

Anyway, Kotaku has all the info about Street Fighter 4 arcade machines coming stateside.

Harley Quinn now Lego-fied

Kotaku reports (with screenshots!) that Harley Quinn will be a character in the Lego Batman game. Neat. Click here for pics and details.

I read some comics last night

and overall, I must tell you, they kind of hurt my soul. A good week that left me feeling quite 'meh' thus far. So anyway, SPOILERS AHEAD! You've been warned.

Green Arrow and Black Canary #5
Judd Winick just likes to torture his characters. It's just one disaster to another. The sense of suspense leaves me with an eternal Murphy's Law type feeling. Instead of being brought in with suspense, I just feel like 'Oh what's happening to them now?"

New Exiles #2
I would like off the ride please. It's starting to nauseate me.
The inevitable Romy pairing won't be avoided, not even with a Earth 1009 Rogue and a Earth 6706 Gambit, who is the son of a randomly black Namor and Susan Storm. WTF. W.T.F. I think I just grew out of Claremont's writing style. Oh, and Rogue keeps callling Gambit "G". I think it's supposed to come off sounding tough but it just rings 'fake gangsta' in my head.

Salvation Run #4
Talking ape beats other talking ape about the head and face with brain in jar. Yeah, the cover pretty much sums it all up right there. 0_0;
IGN.com loved it. I didn't.

X-Force #1
I am giving this book a second chance, if only for the amazing art of Clayton Crain. Casting 'crazy religious people' as villians is a bit old. Plus, they pussyfoot around almost all religions except Christianity. I know we don't have a lock on crazy religious nutjobs. I am vaguely curious to where the story is going, if only for Rahne's explanation of her participation in the team.

Apologies for Disappearing

Hey all, sorry for my extended absence from the blog. At first my classes were getting out of hand - so I had to drop one. Problem solved, it seems, but then I promptly got whatever sort of black plague that's running around central Florida and contracted what seemed to be strep throat, followed by some severe sinus issues. Not good times!

So now I'm settled into my internship, have a plan for working ahead in portfolio, and am on the road to recovery. I hope to have the blog back on a more regular update schedule in the next few days.

Thanks for your patience,
EG

Wolverine and the Xmen trailer

Oooh, Evil!Rogue. Me like. <3
(yes I am aware she has stupid hair.)
